These shrimp used to be absolutely amazing. Something has changed thru the years. They were my favorite go to easy meal back in 2014 and 2015. Now they are honestly horrible! They are mealy and tough and I have not overcooked them. I am using the same recipes and cooking times I had in the past. So sorry I ordered 4 bags during the pandemic. I am really disappointed. Please bring back the shrimp you had in 2014. The bags often said Blue Sea on them.

These are so fresh,sweet and tender.
My daughter and I love these in Asian style soups,marinara sauce with capers and grilled with fresh lemon thyme and sea salt.
Unfortunately the bag arrived partially open and a few shrimp had spilled out into the box. It appears as if the sealing process on the bag only worked on half the bag.I’m not comfortable eating them For sanitary reasons. Too bad because we were super excited to receive them.

Please note, this bag has never been outside the ambient controlled temperature of the shipping container. We inspect each package for rips/tears prior to packaging. Rips to occasionally occur in a rough route to your delivery address, and we stand behind our product and look forward to hearing from you!
Since the description stated "chemical free" I thought these would taste like unadulterated shrimp should taste. For my taste buds, this wasn't the case. I can't know by taste what exactly was added to these shrimp, but the taste was sort of like chlorine.

Awful after taste to this shrimp! For the cost and all the good reviews I expected much better. Ended up throwing the whole bag out.

Back in April I wrote a 5 star review about how exceptional these shrimp were. The first 8 or 9 bags were really great.
The last three bags we just finished were good, but unexceptional.
The sizes have become irregular. On of the things I loved about the earlier bags was that the shrimp stayed on my grill or smoker without falling through. Now there are still large shrimp, but mixed in are smaller shrimp and these will now fall through the grill - they are noticeable smaller. Worse, the small and large shrimp cook at different rates and must be watched closely so the small ones are not overcooked and tough.
These still taste good, but are no longer worth the premium price over local store shrimp. Now they are simply good shrimp at a premium price and not worth it to me anymore.
Definitely not bad, now just average and pricey.

Outstanding "brown" shrimp!
This was our first time cooking this shrimp. Outstanding in size, texture and - best of all - taste! I'm ordering more as this is the easiest dinner to fix...boiled or broiled...what a find! Thanks, US Wellness! (Your bacon was awful but this product is grand!)

We have gone through at least 6 bags of these shrimp in recent months and they have been very good...highly recommend them. They are big enough where they don't fall through the openings on our grill or smoker. Also have cooked them with olive oil and veggies, boiled with pickling spice or cooked in butter and garlic - all came out great.
Very small minuses, de-veining is not always perfect and the product page says processed in USA, but the only thing the package label says is "Product of Mexico"?

I will say that I purchased 2 of the 2 pound bags and took an hour on each bag re-cleaning the “mud veins” in the shrimp. Both bags were very dirty so I’m guessing the person that deveined them really didn’t like there job. (Lol) In any case I would say make sure you purchase on sale and plan the extra time to clean them and you’ll be very happy cause the flavor of these schrimp is really good. I have no regrets and have already ordered them again. The company we had over both times we served them went crazy and wanted to know where we purchase them cause as we all know... it’s very hard to find good healthy quality meats... With that I say again THANK YOU US WELLNESS MEATS!!!

We have been purchasing these shrimp for a year or so, and devouring them as scampi. As In the title of my review...best shrimp ever! To the person who felt they were tough...they take very little time to cook, and overcooking shrimp always leads to toughness, so..maybe try a shorter cooking time. We pre-boil the shrimp...adding them to boiling water and taking them out after a minute or so--after draining, dump them into cold water with ice cubes. Reheat later with butter/garlic...amazing! Thank you for stocking them.

The shrimp has been better. The last two orders have been tough. It was great in the past - not sure why it has changed. Otherwise the fact they are peeled and ready to cook is great.

I have only been able to find (on occasion) wild caught shrimp at my local grocery store, however they always need cleaning! These brown shrimp are great because the cleaning work is already done for you and they are wild caught. They do taste a *tad* bit different to me than white shrimp, but they are still very tasty and plump. I will be ordering these again in the future.

I sauteed some the other night for the first time. Wow! Really excellent. I grew up on an island so I'm picky when it comes to seafood.The only problem with these is that it broke my Off switch. I didn't want to stop eating them. Seriously. So yum!

Taste like shrimp should taste
I didn't know what to expect, and I can say it was very good. It tastes like shrimp I remember eating long ago before it was all injected with crap in Indonesia. Both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. No weird texture on any of them. We breaded them in crushed plantain chips and fried them in coconut oil. Tonight we are having some on the grill. I'd buy these over any other shrimp I can find locally, and that is if I can find US caught shrimp. Not easy, even in the bay area of SF.

Really Like them. Excellent!!
Love this product. Pulled out 10 from the bag last night, defrosted quickly and then sautéed them up simply with garlic and butter. They were delicious. Read about brown shrimp having a stronger flavor, but it wasn't noticeable at all to us, just regular shrimpy goodness.
I can see this being a future staple in our freezer going forward. (Yeah surf and turf!)

First time trying these shrimp. We made a shrimp scampi dip with about a pound of theses shrimp and they were delicious. Will be buying these again.

The last time we ordered shrimp from US Wellness was when they came in the 3 or 4 pound bags and remember being disappointed with the overall quality of our last batch.
Decided to give them another try with the 2lb bag offering and they're wonderful! So delicious! My only complaint is that our particular order just wasn't consistently deveined.

Order received in a matter of days, packed very well. The shrimp are a nice large size and the taste is beyond delicious. Deveined nicely with only the small tail end as waste. I have shared my new find "US Welness Meats" with friends. I cannot wait to make broth with the buffalo bones ( with marrow) which I purchased along with the shrimp. Also, looking forward to trying the grass fed beef from the same order. Thank you for healthy and tasty choices! I will order again in the near future.

Shrimp are medium to medium large in size and the deveining is done very well. Other than a thorough rinse after thawing, little prep work is needed. Have used these in a variety of stir fry recipes and also as chilled shrimp cocktail. Boil them in your favorite beer, chill them, and then put on a plate in a circle with a nice cocktail sauce in the center. Shrimp are firm in texture and have great taste. Guarantee you will be the hit of the party.
