Every living being has certain nutrients they need to survive. For cats and dogs, a species-appropriate diet includes nutrients from raw animal proteins, bones, and fats. Kibble, which currently dominates the pet food industry, was introduced less than 100 years ago. In that time, concerning trends of cancer, diseases, allergies, and more have been on the rise for pets. Studies show that 1 in 2 dogs and 1 in 3 cats will be diagnosed with cancer.

Raw pet food is what nature intended for these animals. Many pet owners state improvements in their pet's digestion, teeth, weight control, hair coat, allergies, and overall health when switching or adding a raw diet to their pet's meals.

Before switching your pet to a raw diet, note some important things. Firstly, transitioning a pet from one type of food to another can cause digestive discomfort regardless of brand or type. This discomfort doesn't necessarily mean the new food is worse than the previous food, but instead, the pet's gastrointestinal tract isn't accustomed to the new dog food.

For a smooth and comfortable transition, we strongly recommend a gradual shift to a raw diet. This approach allows your pet's digestive system to adapt at its own pace, ensuring a positive and stress-free experience.

Week 1: 25% Raw Food to 75% previous food
Week 2: 50% Raw Food to 50% previous food
Week 3: 75% Raw Food to 25% previous food
Week 4: 100% Raw Food

While feeding a 100% raw diet will yield the most significant benefits, any raw food is better than none.

Many of our patrons find that supplementing their dog's kibble with raw pet food options provides an adaptable approach to pet nutrition. Every pet parent can find what works best for them, giving them a sense of control over their pet's diet.

Dogs and Cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they are meant to derive their nutrients from raw meat sources. Cooking the meat will change the bioavailable nutrients, so we do not recommend cooking the meat unless you find your pet prefers cooked meat to raw. While not the first choice, fresh cooked is better than pure kibble.
