Inconsistent quality and bad customer service
I order this often for soap making, and the quality has been very hit or miss as of late. The first few times I ordered, it was perfect. Another time I found a two inch layer of rancid gelatin/meat at the bottom of the bucket. Gave it one more try and it was perfect yet again, so I kept ordering. This last time though, I opened the container and found mold spots all over the top. Since I use it for soap only, I scraped them off, but then digging into the bucket, I found pockets of some rancid smelling congealed stuff. I emailed this company my concerns and they never bothered to get back to me. For such a high price increase on this product, quality should be good and consistent, and customer service should be better, too.

These Beef Tallow might not be fully grass feed and grass finish

Not Liking It Anymore
We usually love this fat. Unfortunately the quality of the last batch we received early this summer was bad. We have not felt comfortable using it for food consumption due to the odd smell. It smelled used up (like fat that has been used already) upon arrival, and it seems to have been growing bacteria.
We are attempting to clean it enough to be used for soap. We are hoping the quality improves enough with future lots of tallow to allow us to eat it.
But we are now leery of trying to order it again, as we can't afford to get another bad batch.
I do understand this kind of product is variable, and that is not a problem per se. Each batch has been subtly different, and I think that is normal. But we do want to be able to eat it next time.

Best Tallow Ever
We've gotten this a couple of times and it varies from excellent to amazing in terms of flavor and scent, though it's always fantastic tasting. Love this tallow so much.
We melt it just enough to liquify it, then pour it into separate containers to freeze or refrigerate. Sometimes if left in the refrigerator for too many months, I've found mold grows on the outside edges along the bottom and sides where it contacts the container. This may be because of some gelled liquid residue that remains from the bottom of the bucket when you receive it. But that's only happened a few times and seems to be solved by our wiping the edges of the tallow block down for moisture every so often.
Basically I love what this tallow does for donuts, french fries, stir fries, corn tortillas, stews...it's amazing.

Smells Horrible!!!
I recently started a carnivore diet to help with Celiac disease. I was super excited to make pemmican and went all in, buying the 5 gallon bucket of beef tallow. But, this stuff smells toxic, like plastic or something! It’s really hard to describe, but it is very off-putting. I tried to ignore it, but just using a little bit in the pan to sear steaks left my wife and I unable to finish dinner. Bummed! I had such high hopes

Best fries ever
I ordered up a 5 gallon pale to make the switch from peanut oil to tallow.
The 5 gallon pale was really good quality. Has a little unique smell when frying (nature the of the beast). I like their tallow better than other brands I got off of Amazon (far cheaper too).
It really does make the best french fries ever. Cut Russel Burbank potatoes extra thick. Do a 4 minute, 325F blanch and then after they have steamed for a while in a bucket do a 3-4 minute final fry at 375F.
The peanut oil I used to use made really good fries, but the tallow fries are really superior.
Glad I made the switch. The 5 gallon bucket was filtered and now is in a fridge for long life.
US Wellness hit a home run with this; I will be back to start trying their other products soon.

This was just not very good. The taste, texture, smell, all not good. The only thing I can really say positively was that it was very well-packaged with a tight, durable lid. But as far as the product itself, I was quite disappointed. It's a shame too, because I could only use a little bit and had to get rid of the rest. So it was quite an expensive endeavor.

Golden Deliciousness!
We are on our 2nd bucket of this amazing grass-fed tallow. It has a wonderful golden color that tells you just how healthy the cows it came from really are! it has a delicious sweet smell and flavor, I have yet to find anything better than this stuff. We use it for everything from frying to roasting to sauteing! You won't be disappointed with this stuff, and thanks to USWM for offering it! It's all we use in our house!

delicious gold
I'm in the middle of my third large bucket already, and I'm finding I seems to disappear faster each time I get one. It may have something to do with the fact it's the only fat I use to cook with now. I love the taste and aroma, and our family's health seems to love it too.

Incredible!
I have never seen tallow with such a rich, deep yellow color, it is fantastic! The taste is out of this world, US Wellness you guys always outdo yourselves!

secret ingredient!

I transferred all of the tallow to smaller containers for the fridge and freezer. Took a while, and had to do some taste testing along the way....couldn't resist once the lid was off. It has a delicious taste.! Nice clean well filtered tallow...love it!

We used to make our own tallow from discarded fat from where we get our half cows locally, but due to drought, the poor beasties aren't providing a surplus of fat. Here, no labor and doubtlessly more pure than what we did rendering it on our own. Great flavor for all our cooking. Thank you for offering this!

The smell was very bad and made the food taste bad

So I thought I would have been great use the grass fed beef tallow in bulk to cut the cost down on the grocery bill... WOW was I wrong, this stuff smelled so strong while I was frying with it outside, when the door would open it would make the inside of the house smell. It has a foul smell in my opinion and I have never smelled anything like that before when cooking with any type of lard or oils. I asked for a refund and would gladly ship the item back, I will have to wait and see how that goes. I can only imagine that I will be denied a refund and be out the $123 I paid for it.

I'm honestly not sure how this tallow tastes, but I do know that it makes wonderful soap (especially shaving soap)! I make soap to sell, and rendering enough tallow myself got to be too much work a few months ago. This is so much easier, and the price is roughly the same as the fat scraps I was getting from the local organic butcher. I will definitely order again soon.

Love it!
This stuff has become such a staple in my diet I don't know what I'd do without it. I cook almost every meal so it's basically swimming in this stuff. It's like a sauce to me. I've made my own tallow in the past, but couldn't get it fast enough just by buying whole steers. I eat the tallow faster than the rest of the steer. So I tried this and it's flavor is excellent and is very pure. I put it in 1 quart mason jars and put most of it in the freezer and just have a couple in the fridge as I need them. I go through about 2-3 quarts per month and none of it gets throw away after cooking. I eat it all. My girlfriend thought I was weird when we first starting dating because I'd scrape the excess tallow off the plate and eat it. Now she does it too. It's addicting. I'm 5'11" and weigh about 155 Lbs. So I definitely don't think it causes weight gain. I also started using chunks of it (it's solid when refrigerated) as dog treats. This stuff has become such a staple in my diet I don't know what I'd do without it. I cook almost every meal so it's basically swimming in this stuff. It's like a sauce to me. I've made my own tallow in the past, but couldn't get it fast enough just by buying whole steers. I eat the tallow faster than the rest of the steer. So I tried this and it's flavor is excellent and is very pure. I put it in 1 quart mason jars and put most of it in the freezer and just have a couple in the fridge as I need them. I go through about 2-3 quarts per month and none of it gets throw away after cooking. I eat it all. My girlfriend thought I was weird when we first starting dating because I'd scrape the excess tallow off the plate and eat it. Now she does it too. It's addicting. I'm 5'11" and weigh about 155 Lbs. So I definitely don't think it causes weight gain. I also started using chunks of it (it's solid when refrigerated) as dog treats. It's a lot cheaper than dog treats at the store and it's certainly healthier than anything you'll find there. And the dog loves it! Thanks for making it affordable by selling in bulk.

A great deal and a great product!
This product has been a lifesaver. My son who is a very picky eater doesn't consume many, if any healthy foods. Cooking his foods in this tallow has given me a way to introduce healthy fats into his diet. Not to mention the taste is delicious! We use it everyday.

Absolutely delicious!
I consume my beef tallow in broth everyday! It makes it richer, delicious and very healthy for me! Taste is superb!! I also use it to cook with as well and performs wonderfully!
