Incredible!
I usually eat ribeyes, bone-in filets, or strip steaks. Sometimes I'll have a t-bone or delmonico. I decided to try a hanger steak, and I was stunned at how good it was. I immediately came back here to order a bunch more.

Great Steak
I have eaten several of these hanger steaks from US Wellness and have really enjoyed them. The flavor is wonderful and once you remove the connective tissue that runs the long way between the two muscles of the steak they were very tender. I will be buying more of these!

I would buy them again!
I sous vided and pan seared these steaks and they were wonderful.  They were tender and very flavorful. I would buy them again and recommend them.- Jennie A.

Still tough
This is the third time I've tried this cut from USWM. Marinated 2hrs and grilled rare like all my other steaks, but I think I'm done buying hangers. Too bad because it tasted pretty good!

Waste of money. Don't buy. Super tough super disappointed
My friend told me Grasslands beef is the best. I ordered these Hangers thinking I was getting a good deal, they were super tough. I know how to cook. My family took one bite and it was so tough they couldn't chew it and I made it perfectly medium rare. So I had to throw out my extra steaks. Waste of money. I should of listened to the reviews. Never again will I buy these.

My friend told me Grasslands beef is the best. I ordered these Hangers thinking I was getting a good deal, they were super tough. I know how to cook. My family took one bite and it was so tough they couldn't chew it and I made it perfectly medium rare. So I had to throw out my extra steaks. Waste of money. I should of listened to the reviews. Rubber-like consistency and bland taste.
Hanger steak is usually one of my favorites cuts.
I know how to marinate and cook it at "perfection".
I have to say that this is the worst I ever had.
It had a rubber-like consistency, basically, inedible.
It also tastes ridiculously bland for a cut that, usually, is very flavored.
I'm very disappointed.

Inconsistent
This is usually a great cut and if I see it on a restaurant menu my decision is made and I have ever been disappointed. The first time I bought one was at a fancy butcher shop in Boston and it was really expensive, but the inedible sinew running through all hangers had been removed and it was fantastic.

The USWM hangers I've bought all have the sinew intact and it's difficult to remove, so i leave it in and eat around it. But the last hanger I bought ended up dry and almost crumbly, and I almost didn't finish it. This one I marinated for a couple of hours and cooked as a roast like I do a tri-tip. Maybe that was not a good idea.

This cut is bloody and kind of smelly due to its proximity to the kidneys, so rinse it well then either pat dry and season, or throw it in a marinade. When it's good, it's fantastic, but when it's not, ugh.

So disappointing. Too tough
This is supposed to be a tender cut but it was as tough and chewy.  It was cooked to perfection: brought to room temp, oiled and salt/pepper rub.  Then pan seared in butter and finished off in a hot oven.  Cooked to 120, then sat for 10 minutes.  It was hugely disappointing, so tough.  Never again.

USWM - We're very sorry for your disappointment and consider this matter an anomaly!  The Beef Hanger Steak is a much requested cut and best when prepared rare to medium rare to avoid toughness.  We've returned a credit to you for the disappointing steak.

Good Value
Hangar is flavorful, and very nice if cooked properly (the recipe up on this site is a good place to start). It often has a bit of tough material running through it, so if that is a problem for you, either slow-cook it, or stick with other steak cuts.
