packaging needs to improve
I have ordered two packs of chicken backs and I put one in the refrigerator to defrost to make chicken broth. I put the pack on a flat plate. To my surprise a lot of juice came out through the package and spilled all over my refrigerator. I am not sure how the pack could have been broken but this never happened to me when purchasing frozen meat from other vendors. The meat was good and the broth was delicious. I love the products very much, this was my second order but would like more care for the way the packaging is done. On my first order, one of the beef gelatin boxes was broken. I did get a quick refund for it and I have to say the customer service is excellent.

*USWM- We are truly sorry to hear about your bad experience with thawing the chicken. Unfortunately this can happen in transit due to rough handling. In the future when ordering you can request extra packaging at no additional charge. Hopefully this will resolve any leakage issues in the future. If you feel like you deserve a refund due to any inconvenience please feel free to reach out to us! We appreciate your business as well as your feedback!
Thank You!

surprisingly meaty
So, I just recently started purchasing grassfed and free range poultry. I was pleasantly surprised with how well this worked for my bone broth. In fact, because the bones fell apart after being cooked for almost two days it was hard to separate the meat from the bone, I consider this a good thing because it means that I am getting all the nutrients that are there.

makes excellent chicken stock!
i used these meaty chicken backs to make stock.  it turned out amazing!  the stock is super delicious and it really developed that jelly like consistency (which is what i always desire in my meat stocks) after i refrigerated it.  i couldn't be happier about finding this company.  i know these chickens were healthy and cared for without antibiotics or weird ingredients in their food, etc.  love love!

Grandma Nellie's Chicken Backs!
When I made the batch of broth with these chicken backs and picked the bones out of the broth meats, I was a little astonished by how healthy the birds these backs came from were. Thanks also for including the neck and all the little glands and organs attached to the under side of the backs, I'm sure I'll get lots of extra vitamins and minerals from those!

But the really amazing thing was how healthy the bones were. I've had one other chicken like these from a local farmer.  His eggs are really nice, and when I bought one of his rarely offered whole birds, I saw why the eggs are so nice. His and yours have bones that are well developed, with intricate flutes on the ends and bends and turns and grooves in them that you don't see on less healthy chickens. And all of them are hard, even the small bones.  One of the things I used to hate about less healthy chickens (before I knew how sickly they were) was picking the bones out of the broth meats and how all those little bones in the back would break and crumble, and sometimes it was hard to tell whether a bit was a piece of bone or a piece of toughish meat. No questions with these chickies - their bones were rock hard, right down to the teeniest ones, and none of them broke or crumbled.

Well, now if I get another chicken with straight, smooth, skinny little bones, I'll know for sure it didn't have a happy and healthy life.  And I know where to get ones that did!
