I was really looking forward to some good grass-fed beef liver. Boy was I disappointed! There were so many tendons and connective tissues running through each slice. With every bite I took I chewed as much as I could and spit out the rest. With all the spitting out I did, I probably ended up eating half of what I paid for. Will not order again!

Beef liver
I purchased 3lbs. of beef liver. I cooked 1lb. and cut it into bite sized pieces and put it in the refrigerator. After 3 days many of the pieces turned green. Can I still eat this? Thank you.

From USWM: Thank you for reaching out to our team. The storage time of organ meats can vary widely depending on the refrigerator's temperature. Our organ meats have been flash-frozen just once, immediately after harvest. I generally suggest storage in the fridge is perfectly acceptable for 2-3 days; however, turning green or offering a 'sour' smell is the tell-tale sign of overage. I would not suggest you consume that product as is. Our liver is also perfectly safe to refreeze in an air-tight container should you choose that route.

Tender and Good
I just started eating beef liver this past month.  Bought some from the grocery store and it was difficult to choke down.  This beef liver is much better tasting and tender, especially when cooked on medium/low and not overcooked.  Thought I was going to have to turn it into pate or liverwurst but I like it just fine on its own.  Ordered 6 more lbs :)

STRONG FLAVOR
have to eat 3tb raw liver each day, i'm anemic==liver has a Strong flavor & too many tendons, has to be cooked== back to my local butcher shop

LOVE THIS!!!
I’ve been buying this and making pate for my family—my husband, my 20-year-old daughter, my 90-year-old stepfather, and me.  I was the only one who previously liked liver, but ALL of us love this, and I prepare it on a regular basis. I don’t, however, tell my stepfather what is actually in it, or he would never eat it, since he says he hates liver!😂 I may tell him someday, though.😉. It makes me feel good to know I can provide this extra nutrition to my family and we all love it—even the picky ones!  I do, in fact, crave it, and my husband always comes back for seconds, saying not to be stingy with it, ha ha!😂. THANK YOU, Wellness Meats, for this wonderful option!  And a big shout-out to Michelle Hoover at Unbound Wellness for her Nutrient-Dense Avocado and Beef Liver Pate recipe—smooth, creamy, and delicious!🙂

best beef liver
this was very delicious overall and surprisingly did not have that strong liver taste i am use to with store bought and even butcher shop bought ones have had. i kinda do like more of a strong liver taste but, for those family members that don’t like liver, this one may be worth sneaking unto their plate for it does not have a bitterness nor strong liver taste and the texture was great cooked into the low 150 range..

Assuming next order will be just as good, I will only be buying my beef liver from here now, the pieces from my first pack (bought 2) all look good and not full of tendons/etc...perfect!

TOO MANY NERVE TENDONS
I spent a lot of money on your beef liver, I was satisfied the first time I purchased by this time I got a very bad batch. I paid for a 1lb of liver and 70% of it was inedible due to the large amounts of nerves and tendons in each pack of liver I purchased. Because I've experienced a good batch of liver, now I can tell whether the liver I ordered was a bad batch. I remove the inedible parts of the liver and am always left with less than half of what I paid for. I would like a refund,Thank you :)

Not bad, not great
This beef liver was just okay to me. I don't typically enjoy liver, and the fact that I could tolerate this to an extent at least proves something. Maybe if I could get used to the taste of liver, I could give a more nuanced review.

The most nutrient dense food in the world
Love it.  Eat half a pound every week.  Most of the time they come in large even slices, but yes as some people have mentioned some times you get a section at the end of the liver a get a bunch of small pieces. Eh, no big deal to me, not much they can do about it I imagine.  
If you've never cooked liver before it can be tricky, it needs to be rare or else it gets super tough and chewy and that happens in a very small window of time. Took me a few tries to get the hang of it.

Will order more!
Ordered ten packages, and when I made my first batch of liver and onions, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! So good, and so tender!  #2 batch didn't turn out as yummy...the liver was tough.Ugh! I'm a pretty good cook, and I don't believe I overcooked it, but hey, it's possible I guess.  Crossing fingers the next attempt turns out like the first! I'd recommend this liver!

Best Ever!
Lightly dredged through flour, browned and braised. This was the best liver I’ve ever had. It’s cut thicker than most and very tender. Ordering more.

Not Good
I ordered 2 of the beef liver, one of the packaged liver was Bluish in color and tasted very bad!
I also ordered Oxtail which came full of frost and wasn't sealed properly, smelled and tasted very bad, the rest of my order was good but I'm not ordering Oxtail again and not sure about the Liver!

Very pleased
I was prompted to write a review, as I read the two reviews who didn't like the liver sliced thin.  I DID!  Cooking took no time, it was sliced so nicely, and I could divide it up into fourths and freeze for weekly portions all set to go.  We all know how thickness of slicing can change the taste of foods, and I felt the thin sliced didn't have as much of the liver odor when cooking, nor overly strong liver taste (if you have that gag reflex for liver), as thicker slices can. 'Wellness' wish to the company, trying to make everyone happy!

Liver Question
I'm thinking about making a purchase, but wanted to double check on the size of the portions. One review said the liver is very thin and tiny morsels. I'm looking for a thicker cut and actual size of a liver.

No longer a good product
I have purchased liver from you for years--always lovely thick slices as pictured.  But the latest packages were a disaster--a few 3 x 3" square slices, but only 1/4" thick...and the rest of the slices were equally thin, and only postage-stamp sized.  Impossible to avoid overcooking--ate a few of the larger slices and had to trash the tiny pieces that were like leather.  I won't order again unless you give reassurance that you will go back to the previous format.

Love organ meat
Never thought I'd say that but it's true.
Just one guy here, me, small freezer, stock up once or twice a month, been doing it this way a couple years now.
All my meat is organ meat with the occasional ground beef.
Actually caught my mouth watering over the looks of your Beef Liver  picture on the store placing my order today (is that sick or healthy)?  Anyway, I'm hooked on this meat. I buy the Liver, Heart and Kidneys of beef, lamb and bison, all from US Wellness of course. I thaw each package once, use scissors to cut into bite-sized morsels, fill 6oz dishes then refreeze.
Every day's dinner is built around a dish of this meat.
I'm not much of a cook but you don't have to be with these meats. 2-3 years of this and I am still amazed at how good my dinners taste. If healthy eating tasted this good I think we'd all be doing it.  
RECENTLY I SEE GROCERIES AND GURUS PROMOTING GRASS FED BEEF BUT I'M STICKING WITH THE PEOPLE WHO FIRST TURNED ME ON TO IT.

This liver is so tender and so flavorful - I usually cook it until just pink (or make a bourbon pate) and my family really loves it.

Saved my life
I'm a caretaker for my husband who has Alzheimer's Disease, the stress has taken me to the brink and on three occasions had to have transfusions, my PC Dr and dietician wanted liver on my diet on a regular basis, that's very hard to do when every store around has the exact same frozen pieces from who know what or where. Then I found it on Wellness and keep plenty on hand, it sustains me along with daily liquid iron supplements & my numbers are normal again. The up side food wise, it takes like your eating a steak!
