I braised these in red wine, herbs and dates for a couple hours, it was delicious comfort food at an affordable price.

Chewy even after a long slow braise
I was so excited to find beef cheeks from pastured cattle and for such a great price. I’ve cooked them many times and browned the meat,added fresh thyme,Pinot noir,beef stock,a bay leaf and popped them in a slow oven, after 6 hours they still felt tough and sinewy,after 8 hours I resorted to transferring them to my pressure cooker and after 45 minutes on high pressure I gave up. I’m not sure why they didn’t get to the melt in your mouth stage,perhaps not enough filament was trimmed when butchered?I’m baffled and disappointed, I cooked two packages and the flavor was deep and rich,but after chewing for awhile I had to spit the piece out. So sad after all the effort.

I put these in a crockpot on Low, along with some boneless beef short ribs, and beef heart. It was all incredible, but I think the cheeks are the winner. So rich and soft and succulent. Can't wait to make more.

Braised 2 pounds of these for 3 hours at 300 degrees in a root vegetable, wine and stock mixture. Rich, deep flavor in fork-tender mini-roasts.

After only 40 min in my pressure cooker these were fall apart tender and sooooo full of delicious flavor. i served them over homemade ricotta gnocci - a meal my husband won't stop talking about!

The cheeks were a great size and were melt in your mouth tender after being braised for 8 hours in the crock pot. My dinner guests are already asking when I will repeat this dish.

This cut of meat is so tender after a few hours in the crock pot and super delicious. We love the amount of gelatin in the beef as well.
